Rich local culture

Our aim is to conserve the built, natural, cultural and social heritage of Amber in a way that produces sustainable benefits for the community. The challenge is that in the name of "progress", local heritage is slowly disappearing, with marvellous buildings crumbling away and traditional culture being eroded.
Our initial goal is to halt this steady degradation and to enrich the cultural life of Amber, building on local skills and traditions.
Threatened heritage

Music is being encouraged inside and outside the schools. We hope that the local people will become involved in heritage conservation.
Our dream is now to make Amber an Eco Heritage Community, and we ultimately hope that it may be recognised as a World Heritage Site. We have started work on building the partnerships and concepts to bring this idea to life in 2004/5.
